Tara Maeve West is a gifted healer whose personalized approach is one of gentleness and warmth. She has studied and practiced Hypnotherapy and healing for over 20 years. Tara began studying alternative healing in 1980 after a career in television and publishing.

She received training as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist in 1991 from the Alchemy Institute of Hypnosis and has been a member of the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners (ACHE) since then. ACHE has the highest educational standards of any hypnosis organization, requiring members to pass ACHE-certified exams, graduation from approved and state-licensed schools such as the Alchemy Institute, as well as continuing education requirements.

Tara is a Certified Reiki Master and also studied bodywork at The Breema Center, The San Francisco School of Massage and The Santa Barbara School of Massage. The natural home births of her two children offered Tara great insights into the power of life transitions and she has since been formally trained as a Doula/Labor Coach and assisted with both home and hospital births.

As a passionate percussionist Tara has performed with a women’s percussion group for the last ten years and traveled to West Africa in 2003 to study dance and rhythm. She now incorporates rhythm into her healing sessions to facilitate trance as well as the clearing of energy pathways. Tara is the facilitator of women’s drum community and offers Individual Sound Healing Sessions as well as Group Sound Healing Ceremonies. She is also available to facilitate drumming at private celebrations and life transitions.
